Nola Theiss

Nola Theiss is the Executive Director and founder of Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships, Inc.
(HTAP) founded in 2006. Nola served as the founding Chair of the Lee County Human Trafficking Task Force
(2005). She has spoken on Human Trafficking to community groups and professional organizations throughout Florida and the U.S., the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Canada, Poland, Spain and Australia, including a workshop during the UN Commission on the Status of Women in March of 2013. Nola served as the Mayor of Sanibel, FL and is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, receiving her Master’s in Public Administration. She holds degrees from the University of Illinois and Johns Hopkins University. Nola was recently named a 2015 WGCU Maker, an award for women who have made a significant impact in Southwest Florida.
