Volunteer

In addition to our staff, we rely on many volunteers to make our programs successful! We actively participate in the Community Engagement Program at Florida Gulf Coast University which assists with our programs, fundraisers and awareness events as well as other special projects. Service groups, such as local Zonta International Clubs often participate in our service programs as well.

Volunteer Opportunities:

ARTREACH- If you like art and you enjoy working with youth, then ARTREACH is the perfect program to volunteer for! Do not feel like you have to be Picasso in order to help out with ARTREACH though, because we try to let the kids do most of the art work. Use the "Contact Us' page to let us know you would like to volunteer, and we will e-mail you with a schedule of ARTREACH programs that you can participate in. We currently do not have any more ARTREACH programs scheduled for the end of this year, however, be on the look out for e-mails about next year's programs!

Slave Free Day- Every year in January we participate in Slave Free Day, a collaborative community event that coincides with January being Human Trafficking Awareness Month. It is free and open to the public! This year the event will be held at the Heights Community Center, and there will be lots of different roles that you can fill as a volunteer.

Fundraisers- HTAP does several fundraisers throughout the year, including our signature annual fundraiser 'Bling Bash to Smash Slavery'. We need people with all sorts of different skill sets to volunteer for these events, so use the 'Contact Us' page to let us know you are interested in volunteering and we will send you an e-mail prior to our fundraisers with the specific volunteer needs we have at that time.

Point of Contact/Point of Rescue- As our Point of Contact, Point of Rescue program expands, we anticipate the demand for these training presentations to potentially exceed our staff's availability. If you are interested in being trained to give this presentation at area businesses, medical facilities, etc. please use the 'Contact Us' form on our website to let us know, and we will work with your schedule to train you on the presentation, have you observe one, and then be certified to deliver the presentation.
